Whether you're taking exam classes or general language, or your focus is on Business English, adding private lessons to your schedule is a great way to improve your language skills quickly. Students who supplement their core course with 1-1 lessons, benefit from the undivided attention of their teacher, who will make sure classes are structured to suit their student's needs. Not only does this increase the language input you receive in class, but you can also focus on what's important to you and study at your own pace. Many students enjoy the freedom this brings, as private lessons can be very flexible.

Before you begin a private course, your teacher will ask you to complete a detailed needs analysis. This is intended to give a full picture of what you hope to achieve with 1-1 lessons, so that your teacher can plan and structure the classes accordingly. For example, if you are studying Business English but would also like to improve your general conversation skills, private lessons are a great choice.

Pre-course level testing

We make sure your classes are tailored to your own language level.

Your teacher will prepare materials that are appropriate for you, so that your 1-1 time will be both challenging and productive.

Online entry

Before you arrive at your chosen school, you are given the opportunity to take a pre-entry test online. When you arrive, you will speak with the senior teacher who will make a final assessment of your English level and notify your private teacher.

Private lessons

With our private lessons option, you can choose to study in a general language group class in the mornings, and add 1-1 classes in the afternoon. Alternatively, you can take all of your classes as private lessons in the morning or afternoon.
